The CENTER for Wellbeing is an innovative, nonprofit organization whose mission is to fill gaps in mental health services impacting individuals and families in our community.
The CENTER will fill these gaps through removing financial barriers and delivering culturally competent and ethical care to those in need. Further, the CENTER’s objectives are to:
• Reduce barriers to accessing quality mental health services, by providing free and/or low-cost mental health services.
• Prioritize marginalized communities and individuals that may face additional barriers to accessing mental health resources, for example, individuals who cannot afford mental health services, are under-insured, uninsured or cannot otherwise afford quality mental health services.
• Offer various services, such as individual and group therapy sessions, mental wellness workshops, psycho-educational groups, and support groups.
• Provide different modalities of delivery, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Play/Art Therapy.
o These services will be provided by trained professionals and peer leaders.
o The target population includes individuals of all ages and backgrounds who (have) experience(d) mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, along with other mental health conditions that severely impact their daily functioning. Mental health services will be provided in person and via telehealth platforms (i.e., Therapy Notes, Zoom), in English, Spanish, and Romanian.
